The studio case: control and luxury. In my North Tustin studio, the light is perfect every time — no harsh noon sun, no overcast surprises. Hair and makeup happen on-site, so you arrive and are pampered into camera-ready. Wardrobe changes take seconds with a curated maternity closet steps away. It's private — and privacy matters when you're feeling exposed in your third trimester. Weather never cancels. The result is polished, timeless, editorial: the kind of portraits that look as elegant in thirty years as they do today.

The outdoor case: nature does the styling. Golden hour on an Orange County beach is genuinely magical — warm light, flowing fabric in the ocean breeze, dramatic skies. If your vision is dreamy, barefoot, and windswept, nothing else delivers it. Outdoor sessions feel more lifestyle, more candid, more "us."

But go in with open eyes. The beach brings wind — beautiful in fabric, brutal on styled hair. Sand gets everywhere, including places your outfits don't cover. Popular OC beaches have crowds; true privacy is rare. Wardrobe changes mean a pop-up tent or a car. And weather, marine layer, and sunset timing are out of everyone's control — reschedules happen.

So who should choose which? Choose the studio if you want a pampered, private, timeless experience with flawless light — especially if you're booking in your third trimester, when comfort is everything. Choose outdoors if your heart is set on golden-hour romance and you're comfortable surrendering some control to nature.
