"I Feel Huge": Why That's Exactly Why You Need Maternity Photos
Almost every mother says it in our first call. Sometimes with a laugh, sometimes near tears: "I want the photos, but I feel huge."
So let me say the thing you need to hear: this feeling is the reason to book, not the reason to skip.
First, the practical truth. You will never be this pregnant again. Not like this — not with this baby, not in this exact chapter. Pregnancy feels endless while you're in it, and then it's over, and what remains are a few phone selfies you never loved. I know this because I lived it: I regret not getting maternity photos done. I felt less than glamorous and couldn't bear the thought of posing. I was wrong, and I'd give a lot to have those images now.
Second, the mirror is lying to you. What you see at 8 p.m. — swollen ankles, tired eyes, the third-trimester waddle — is not what a professional camera sees. Flattering light, expert posing, and direction exist precisely for this moment. I pose every woman head to toe; the angles, the fabrics, the way light wraps a bump — this is craft, not luck. Women walk out of my studio standing taller than when they walked in. Every time.
Third — and this is the one that matters most — these photos aren't really for how you feel today. They're for your child, who will one day want to see where they came from. For your partner, who watched you do something extraordinary. For the woman you'll be in ten years, who will look back and wish she could touch this moment again. Future you is begging present you to do this.
You don't need to feel beautiful to be photographed beautifully. You just need to show up — I'll handle the rest: the styling, the wardrobe, the posing, the light. That's what the session is for.
So here's my ask: don't let a hard week steal a lifetime memory. Book a free 20-minute consultation and tell me exactly how you're feeling — I've heard it all, and there's no judgment here. Text or call 657-549-2004. My North Tustin studio is waiting, whenever you're ready.
